The Challenge
PerfectDraft’s app serves 125,000 monthly users, enabling them to adjust machine temperature, monitor keg status, and manage equipment orders. The client sought to enhance user experience and drive app-initiated sales revenue.
However, existing technical debt consumed the in-house team’s capacity, forcing them to prioritise troubleshooting over development. In February 2024, Doza provided a full-time consultant for an initial six-month engagement.
Our Approach
We deployed a full-stack mobile engineer with React Native and SDK expertise, plus iOS and Android capabilities. The consultant prioritised high-impact work across two phases.
Initial Phase (2 months)
- Updated libraries and upgraded React Native/SDK versions for performance and security improvements
- Implemented third-party issue tracking to identify and resolve customer-reported problems faster
Ongoing Phase
- Evaluated and recommended new technologies for cost modelling
- Supported feature development including loyalty widgets, in-store offers, cooling control upgrades, biometric authentication, and app inbox messaging
Results
Doza completed over 100 individual work items, enabling faster feature deployments and breaking down knowledge silos within the team.
